WHAT KIND OF FOOD WILL I EAT?

The recipes use whole, plant-based seasonal foods, the majority of which are available at any grocery store. You'll avoid processed foods, alcohol, sugar/artificial sweeteners, white starches (white flour, bread, etc). The recipes are gluten-free, or can easily be adapted to be gluten-free. There are no animal products in the recipes, so they are suitable for vegetarians and vegans. There are nuts in some recipes, but these can easily be substituted.

HOW IS THIS DIFFERENT THAN A PALEO/ KETO/ FILL-IN-THE-BLANK DIET PLAN?

The 7-Day Sugar Detox is not a diet. It's a way of eating that jumpstarts your metabolism and reduces cravings for unhealthy foods that you can use forever, not just for seven days.

It's not usually the amount of food we're eating, it's that we're eating the wrong foods. The Standard American Diet is full of refined carbohydrates and sugars that spike blood sugar, releasing insulin, causing extra fat storage and triggering cravings.

The recipes in the 7-Day Sugar Detox use whole, plant-based foods that flatten out the blood sugar spike so your body does not store extra fat and doesn't crave those sugars. You will feel satiated and it will be easy to maintain because you won't be hungry.

You'll learn how to cook and enjoy these simple meals at home, which makes it a sustainable way to eat and live.

WHAT IF I DON'T HAVE TIME TO COOK?

I've done my best to make food prep as simple as possible. Most meals come together in 30 minutes or less. You'll streamline shopping by using the list provided that includes all the foods needed for the week.
